The Egyptian Football Association (EFA), headed by Hany Abou Rida, announced today the activation of a new decision regarding referees in the coming period.

The EFA revealed that it has started covering the allowances for referees officiating youth competitions, effective for all tournaments up to the 2010 age group.

In its last meeting, the EFA board decided that, starting January 1, 2025, the association will bear the costs of refereeing across all competitions for first teams and various youth categories, except for the first division league. This move aims to ease the financial burden on clubs.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Premier League clubs are eagerly awaiting the EFA’s announcement of the name of the new foreign expert who will head the Referees Committee.
