Egypt and Nigeria completed preparations on Monday ahead of their friendly in Cairo, the match before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations begins on Sunday. Egypt trained before hosting Nigeria on Tuesday, then will travel to Morocco to continue group-stage preparations. The seven-time champions are grouped with Zimbabwe, South Africa and Angola, opening against Zimbabwe on 22 December.
Nigeria also trained as coach Eric Chelle fine-tuned plans. An experimental line-up is expected due to absentees, including Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon, who are yet to join the squad. Nigeria face Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania in Group C, with games in Fez. Kickoff is 18:00 GMT Tuesday.
