Egypt Awaits Premier League Decision on Salah, Marmoush for Nigeria Clash English Premier League

The Egyptian Football Association is still waiting for official responses from Liverpool and Manchester City on whether Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush will be allowed to join the Pharaohs for their friendly against Nigeria on December 14 in Cairo.

According to Filgoal, Egypt coach Hossam Hassan has handed the matter over to EFA President Hani Abu Rida, who has already contacted both clubs but is yet to receive any formal reply. He stressed that “…we are still waiting…” as the federation works to complete preparations for next year’s Afcon in Morocco.

The uncertainty comes as both Premier League sides face tight schedules. Liverpool play Brighton on December 13, while Manchester City meet Crystal Palace on December 14 — the same day as the Nigeria match — raising concerns about whether the forwards can realistically join the squad.

Nigeria may also be without several Premier League players for the friendly. Fulham’s Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and Calvin Bassey have league commitments on December 13, while Tolu Arokodare’s Wolves visit Arsenal the same day. Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka is also unlikely to feature, with his club set to face Leeds United on December 14.
