EFL Cup. Liverpool wins a strong-willed victory in the first match of the semi-finals

Liverpool hosted Fulham at Anfield in the first leg of the EFL Cup semifinal on Wednesday, January 10.

In the first half, the hosts dominated possession but struggled to create goal-scoring opportunities. However, Fulham seized their chance unexpectedly. In the 19th minute, Willian, to the surprise of Liverpool fans, put the Londoners ahead. Fulham maintained a slender 1-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, Liverpool continued their dominance on the football pitch and translated their advantage into goals. In the 68th minute, Jones equalized, and three minutes later, Gakpo propelled Klopp's team ahead. The hosts calmly retained their minimal advantage of 2-1, securing victory in the first leg of the EFL Cup.
