Edouard Mendy wins the 2025–2026 Saudi Pro League Golden Glove

The Senegalese international goalkeeper is reaping the rewards of his remarkable previous season for Al-Ahli in the Saudi league. Last season, Edouard Mendy particularly distinguished himself in the Saudi league. The 34-year-old goalkeeper kept 14 clean sheets, a total no other goalkeeper in the Saudi Pro League had matched.

This achievement is a testament to the Senegalese player’s consistency and importance between the posts for Al-Ahli. In recognition of these performances, the Golden Glove was awarded to the Senegalese player.

Edouard Mendy received his trophy on Saturday 22 August, during his first league match since sustaining an injury whilst playing for Senegal at the 2026 World Cup. This accolade recognises the hard work put in by the Senegalese goalkeeper and provides further motivation for Mendy, who has continued to impress since his arrival in Saudi Arabia in 2023.
