Ecuador's national team plans to hold a short training camp from April 15 to 17 featuring players from the domestic LigaPro, but the effort may fall apart due to lack of cooperation from local clubs. As reported by Bolavip, several teams are hesitant to release their players given the tight fixture schedule and physical demands.

The camp was set to involve players from leading clubs such as Barcelona SC, LDU Quito, Emelec, and Independiente del Valle. However, due to national elections in Ecuador, no league matches will be held over the weekend, pushing several fixtures into Monday and Tuesday. This leaves little time for players to recover and report to the national team camp in Quito.

Complicating matters further, the training camp is not part of an official FIFA window, meaning clubs are under no obligation to release players. The added burden of travel, minimal rest, and the quick turnaround to return for league matches has led many teams to reconsider their participation.

The camp was partly organized in response to public criticism following the surprise debut of young defender Darwin Guagua in the World Cup qualifiers. Ecuador won’t play again in official matches until November, when they face Brazil and Peru in crucial qualifiers. The microcycle was intended to fine-tune the squad and scout domestic talent, but logistical hurdles now threaten its execution.
