Southampton interim manager Tonda Eckert has delivered strong praise for Joe Aribo, saying he is impressed with the midfielder’s attitude despite his limited involvement this season. Aribo, who joined from Rangers, struggled for opportunities under former manager Will Still and was left out of several matchday squads. So far, he has made only five league appearances, playing just 98 minutes since August.

Eckert, however, says the Nigerian international has remained committed and shown excellent professionalism since he took charge. After Southampton’s 3–2 defeat to Millwall, Eckert told the Daily Echo: “I am very happy with Joe… He has been excellent every time he has come on, and he is in very good shape.”

Aribo, 29, was a regular last season, making 32 appearances as the Saints were relegated. He now hopes consistent performances can help him earn a starting spot and push Southampton’s promotion bid.
