The cup match between Crystal Palace and Millwall "gifted" a terrifying clash between Jean-Philippe Mateta and Liam Roberts. The bleakest forecasts were being mentioned, but fortunately, the situation turned out to be less serious.
Details: According to the Eagles' press office, Mateta was discharged from the hospital in the evening, where he was taken directly from the field. Examinations did not reveal any abnormalities, and the only injury the Crystal Palace forward sustained was a torn left ear, which required 25 stitches.
For now, he will not participate in training sessions and will be resting and recovering under the supervision of the club's doctors.
Reminder: Mateta was carried off the field on a stretcher, and there were suspicions of a concussion and a broken jaw for the forward. But, fortunately, these predictions were not confirmed.
