During the Portuguese League Cup match between Benfica and ABC, a supporter suffered a knife-inflicted injury, as reported by A Bola.

According to the statement, an altercation during the halftime break resulted in an injury to one of the fans. He was promptly transported to the hospital and received all necessary medical assistance. Currently, his condition is assessed as stable. All relevant information has been conveyed to law enforcement authorities, who have initiated an investigation. Video footage from the stadium is being reviewed, hoping to expedite the identification of the assailant.

It is worth recalling that not long ago, a tragedy occurred during the 16th round match of the Spanish La Liga between Granada and Athletic Bilbao. The match was interrupted in the middle of the first half due to a fan feeling unwell in the stands. Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simón noticed the situation in the stands and signaled the main referee to stop the game.

The emergency medical team tried to provide immediate assistance to the affected supporter, who had suffered a heart attack. Unfortunately, the fan could not be saved and passed away.
