Durban City Find New Head Coach: Appointment Confirmed

Durban City, having secured promotion to the Betway Premiership following a successful campaign in South Africa’s second division, have opted to make a change at the helm.

Details: According to SABC Sport, the club has reached an agreement with Gavin Hunt. He will take charge of the team and begin preparations for the upcoming Betway Premiership season. The official announcement is expected next week, once the paperwork is finalized. At present, a verbal agreement is already in place between the two parties.

Hunt, a four-time Betway Premiership champion—three titles with SuperSport United and one with Bidvest Wits—now embarks on a new challenge, aiming to transform City into a competitive force.

As previously reported, the new league season is set to kick off on August 8, 2025, while the MTN8 will begin on August 1, officially launching the domestic football calendar in South Africa.

Reminder: Last season was far from ideal for Kaizer Chiefs. They finished ninth, and now the club is doing everything possible to ensure a much-improved campaign. Judging by the latest developments, they're heading in the right direction.
