On Monday, June 30, the Tanzanian Premier League concluded with what could only be described as a golden showdown. The championship was decided in a head-to-head clash between Young Africans and Simba.
Heading into the final matchday, the league table stood on a knife’s edge: Young Africans had 79 points, while Simba trailed closely with 78.
The first half ended in a goalless stalemate, with neither side able to break the deadlock. But in the second half, the hosts seized control and settled the title race. Young Africans struck in the 67th minute and sealed the deal with a second goal in the 88th minute to make it 2–0.
As a result, Young Africans finished the season with 82 points from 30 matches, four points clear of Simba, and secured their fourth consecutive league title. In total, this marks the club’s 26th Premier League crown in their storied history.
