Drake is in the red again. The rapper loses $200,000 betting against Joshua
The renowned rapper Drake is making headlines once more, this time for losing a hefty sum on sports betting. The artist is no stranger to high-stakes losses, and now he's added another disappointing wager to his growing list.
Drake staked $200,000 on YouTuber Jake Paul to defeat Anthony Joshua in their bout. Had the bet paid off, Drake could have pocketed over $1.5 million, but the British boxer floored Paul with a knockout in the sixth round.
Remarkably, this marks the second time that betting on Paul has brought Drake disappointment: he previously wagered $250,000 on Nate Diaz, but Paul emerged victorious then as well. To add insult to injury, Drake also lost over half a million dollars backing Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk in their December 2024 clash. According to media calculations, by 2024, the rapper had placed 206 sports bets, winning just 17 — less than 9%.
