Canadian rapper Drake is once again in the spotlight thanks to his passion for high-stakes sports betting. This time, the musician has wagered one million dollars on Conor McGregor to win the main event of UFC 329 against Max Holloway.
Despite a long layoff and his underdog status, Drake is confident in the success of the former two-division UFC champion. If McGregor comes out on top, the rapper stands to earn around $2.85 million.
Max Holloway himself responded with a sense of humor to the celebrity's choice. The American referenced the so-called "Drake curse," which has seen many athletes and teams suffer defeat after receiving the rapper's public backing.
Let’s recall, McGregor is returning to the octagon after a five-year hiatus caused by a serious leg injury sustained in a fight with Dustin Poirier. Later, the Irishman was also forced to withdraw from a bout with Michael Chandler due to a broken toe, but now he’s ready to step back into the cage.
