Doué Noumandiez takes charge of Ivorian refereeing
A former international referee, his appointment as head of the Central Referees’ Committee was announced on Thursday 8 October by the Ivorian Football Federation.
Doué Noumandiez returns to a role he has previously held. Having officiated at international level between 2004 and 2015, he is fully familiar with the demands of top-flight football. The Ivorian Football Federation has therefore renewed its confidence in him to lead Ivorian refereeing.
Doué Noumandiez has made his mark on African refereeing. In 2011, he became the first referee to receive a CAF Award. Three years later, in 2014, he became the first Ivorian referee to officiate at a World Cup match.
The new head of Ivorian refereeing took part in four editions of the Africa Cup of Nations between 2010 and 2015. This international experience will be a valuable asset in his new role.
In 2022, Doué Noumandiez was appointed chairman of the Referees’ Committee of the Confederation of African Football, before stepping down from the post in 2025. He is now returning to the forefront of the national scene with the responsibility of leading the Ivorian Central Referees’ Committee.
