Double podium for Hungary. Results of the men's 10 km swim
Today, August 9th, on the 14th day of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the first set of medals was awarded in the men’s 10 km open water swimming event.
This race turned into a true triumph for Hungary, as the country’s representatives claimed both gold and bronze medals.
Kristóf Rasovszky was the first to cross the finish line, completing the distance in 1:50:52.7. He was closely followed by Germany's Oliver Klemet, who finished with a time of 1:50:54.8. The bronze medal went to Dávid Betlehem.
Thanks to today’s success, Hungary has climbed to 13th place in the medal standings with 4 golds, 3 silvers, and 4 bronzes.
It's worth noting that yesterday, the gold medal in the women’s open water swimming was claimed by the Netherlands’ Sharon van Rouwendaal, who humorously admitted that she had to drink water from the Seine to stay refreshed.
