Done! Juventus star stays at the club
One decision has triggered a transfer domino effect in the final hours of the window.
Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, Juan Cabal is now expected to remain at Juventus unless there is a dramatic late twist. The Colombian defender did not open the door to a move to Atalanta, despite the Bergamo club working on a deal for him.
Earlier reports indicated that Juventus and Atalanta had been discussing Cabal's departure, with the Turin club considering Nico Tagliafico as a replacement on the left side of defence. However, the player's position has changed the entire situation.
Cabal's expected stay in Turin directly affects Tagliafico's future. Romano reports that the Argentine defender is now close to joining Atlético Madrid instead. The Spanish club had already entered the race for the Lyon full-back, while Juventus' move for him depended on freeing up space through Cabal's departure.
As a result, barring another deadline-day twist, Juventus are set to keep Cabal, while Atlético Madrid have moved into a strong position to complete the signing of Tagliafico. The Argentine had also been prepared to join the Turin side, but the conditions required for that transfer are no longer expected to materialise.
It is worth noting that Cabal's contract with Juventus runs until June 2029. According to Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old Colombian defender is currently valued at €7 million.
