Senegalese centre-back Abdoulaye Faye has completed a loan move to Spanish La Liga side Celta Vigo from Bayer Leverkusen.

The 21-year-old defender joins Celta Vigo on a one-year loan deal, with the agreement containing no option to buy.

According to Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg, a full agreement was reached between Celta Vigo and Bayer Leverkusen, with Faye completing his medical before putting pen to paper on his contract.

Faye joined Bayer Leverkusen in July 2025 from Swedish club BK Häcken in a deal worth around €2.7 million.

He was subsequently loaned to FC Lorient, where he made 19 appearances during the 2025/26 campaign. The defender returned to Leverkusen at the end of June before completing his latest move to Spain.

The loan does not include a permanent transfer option, meaning the Senegalese defender remains a Bayer Leverkusen player beyond his spell in Spain.
