Barcelona continues its search for a new central defender, but one high-profile option has already been crossed off the club's transfer shortlist. According to journalist Luis Miguelsanz from Sport, the Catalans have decided to withdraw from the race for a player who has drawn interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Earlier reports suggested that the Blaugrana were considering Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck. However, the club's technical staff quickly concluded that the German does not meet their requirements.
It is reported that Barcelona still has two other central defenders on their radar—Alessandro Bastoni from Inter and Micky van de Ven from Tottenham.
