“Do you want to sack me?” Guardiola responds with irony to questions about leaving Man City
At the pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Chelsea, Pep Guardiola responded with irony to journalists’ questions about his future at Manchester City.
Do you want to sack me? I still have another year left on my contract after this season. I have a contract, and I’ve said it a thousand times. I understand that you’re tired of me after 10 years here. One day I’ll leave, I promise you. By the way, the management respects me — this was proven last season by what happened at the club: we didn’t win a single match for two or three months, but they supported me. I still have another year on my contract. I enjoy working here, so we’ll see — you’ll all see, said the Spanish manager.
As a reminder, the match between Man City and Chelsea will take place tomorrow, January 4. Michael Oliver’s opening whistle at the Etihad Stadium will sound at 18:30 Central European Time.
