“Do we have to win La Liga and the Champions League every time?” Pérez assesses Real Madrid’s results

Florentino Pérez has once again spoken to the media, and this time the Real Madrid president offered his assessment of the club’s performances over recent seasons.

Details: in an interview with Josep Pedrerol, the Real Madrid president stated that people are underestimating what the club achieved last season, when they won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. According to Pérez, it is impossible to win every trophy all the time.

Quote: “We have started to underestimate what we have achieved. Last season we won the Club World Cup and the Super Cup. Does that count for nothing? Do we have to win La Liga and the Champions League every single time? Then perhaps the rest of Europe’s clubs should simply give up,” Pérez said.

Meanwhile, Benfica’s board reportedly have no intention of parting ways easily with their star head coach José Mourinho and have offered him a new contract.

Reminder: Real Madrid have endured another disappointing campaign, finishing a second consecutive season without silverware, which prompted club president Florentino Pérez to address the media at a major press conference.
