Tennis legend Novak Djokovic found himself at the center of controversy following his hard-fought victory over Czech player Jiri Lehecka in the Australian Open round of 16.

Details: After the match, Djokovic declined to give an interview to the Australian broadcaster, whose journalist had mocked Djokovic’s group of fans as well as the player himself, and refused to issue a public apology. Djokovic emphasized, however, that he holds no ill feelings toward Australia or its public.

Quote: "A few days ago, a well-known sports journalist working for Channel 9 in Australia mocked Serbian fans and made offensive and hurtful remarks about me. Since then, he has not offered any public apology. Nor has Channel 9. So, as they are the official broadcasters, I decided not to give them an interview," Djokovic said at the press conference.

Reminder: Djokovic defeated Lehecka in straight sets (6-3, 6-4, 7-6(4)) to advance to the Australian Open quarterfinals, where he will face the current world No. 3, Carlos Alcaraz.
