On Saturday, July 27, the first day of tennis at the 2024 Olympic Games took place. Carlos Alcaraz played against Hady Habib, while Djokovic faced Matthew Ebden.

Djokovic - Ebden: 2-0

The match was remarkably swift. Novak claimed the first set 6-0 in just 25 minutes. The second set lasted slightly longer, 29 minutes, and concluded with a 6-1 victory for the Serbian. As a result, Djokovic advanced past Ebden with a score of 2-0 in 54 minutes and will face the winner of the Fucsovics/Nadal match in the next round.

Habib - Alcaraz: 0-2

Like Djokovic, Carlos swiftly dispatched his opponent. Alcaraz started strong and took the first set 6-3. The second set lasted the same amount of time, 36 minutes, but ended even more convincingly at 6-1. In 1 hour and 12 minutes, Alcaraz defeated Habib 2-0. In the next round, the Spaniard will compete against the winner of the Griekspoor/Norrie match.

Notably, the world number one in women's tennis, Iga Swiatek, secured a hard-fought victory in the first round of the Olympics.
