An extremely tough season for the Real Madrid midfielder.

Details: France national team head coach Didier Deschamps commented on the absence of 24-year-old Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga from the final France squad for the 2026 World Cup.

According to Deschamps, it was a difficult but fair decision:

"Camavinga not making the World Cup squad? He’s just come off a tough season, with little playing time and frequent injuries.

He’s still young. I have to make choices and build the squad. But I can imagine how disappointed he feels tonight." Deschamps said.

This season, Camavinga played 41 matches for Real Madrid, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist. Early in the season, Camavinga suffered an ankle injury that sidelined him for almost two months in total.
