Diego Valdés is officially leaving Club América after a successful three-and-a-half-year stint, Mediotiempo reported. The Chilean midfielder, a cornerstone under manager André Jardine, exits as a key figure in the club’s recent golden era, having lifted six trophies during his time in Mexico.

Through a social media post, América paid tribute to Valdés with heartfelt words: “After 3 and a half years, 6 titles and countless joyful moments, all we can say is thank you. Your time at América was unique, and your name will forever be part of this club’s history.”

Valdés played a pivotal role in América’s domestic dominance, helping the team secure three Liga MX championships (two Apertura and one Clausura), a Campeón de Campeones title in 2023–24, and the Campeones Cup. The only missing piece was an international trophy, as América fell short in both the Concachampions and Leagues Cup.

Goalkeeper Luis Ángel Malagón also shared a personal farewell on Instagram: “See you soon, dear friend. It was a pleasure. Grateful for every moment.” Many fans joined in, calling Valdés a legend and thanking him for his contributions.

At 30, Valdés leaves behind a legacy of consistency, leadership, and title-winning performances. His departure marks the end of a significant chapter in Coapa’s recent history.
