Diego Costa Says Bryan Mbeumo Is the Premier League Striker Most Like Him and Drogba

Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa has singled out Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo as the Premier League attacker whose playing style most closely mirrors his own.

Costa, who was a key figure during Chelsea’s dominant spell between 2014 and 2018, made the comparison while speaking on The Obi One Podcast with John Obi Mikel. During the conversation, the outspoken striker was asked to name a current Premier League forward whose style reflects both his own aggressive approach and that of Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.

Without hesitation, Costa pointed to Mbeumo, praising the Cameroonian international’s physicality, intensity, and direct style in the final third.

“The guy from Man United, from Cameroon — Bryan Mbeumo,” Costa said on the podcast.
