Germany and France are battling for third place in this season's UEFA Nations League in Stuttgart.
The Germans have looked far more dangerous, but France almost had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock. In the 31st minute, the referee initially awarded a penalty against Maignan for a foul on Adeyemi.
After a prompt from the video assistant, Ivan Kruzlyak went to the monitor himself and ultimately changed his decision. The penalty was overturned, and instead, the German winger was booked for simulation.
