Did VAR make a mistake? Angle found showing Barcola closer to the goal than Liverpool defenders
In the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, PSG opened the scoring in the 12th minute, but questions arose about the legitimacy of the goal.
Details: The public account Football Offsides on X (formerly Twitter) published two screenshots from alternative angles, showing Barcola closer to Liverpool's goal than the defenders.
Quote: "Barcola was in an offside position when approaching PSG's goal. More than 30 minutes later, the semi-transparent automatic offside detection was still not shown in the broadcast," the message read.
Interestingly, this goal resulted from a mistake by Liverpool's players. After a cross from the flank, the defenders and Alisson failed to decide who should play the ball, allowing Dembele to capitalize.
