Did tarot let her down? Famous Argentine blogger bets millions on World Cup 2026 final and now asks followers for money
Now the unlucky blogger will have to pay a hefty sum back to the banks.
Details: The 2026 World Cup final turned into a personal disaster for Argentine TikToker Martina Méndez. Hoping to cash in on her national team's victory, she took out a loan of 15 million Argentine pesos and bet the entire amount on Argentina to win the decisive match against Spain.
According to the blogger, she was inspired to make such a risky move by numerous tarot readings that were going viral on social media before the final. She said she was convinced that destiny had already chosen the next world champion, and she planned to use her potential winnings to build her own house.
But reality had other plans. After Argentina's defeat, she not only lost all the money she staked, but also ended up with a huge debt she now can't pay off on her own.
In an attempt to dig herself out of this financial hole, Méndez turned to her audience with an unusual request. She announced that if 15,000 people each sent her $1,000, that would be enough to settle her debts and start her life over.
