Despite the payment of his outstanding wages, Aliou Cisse’s future as head coach of the Libyan national team remains uncertain

Whether the Senegalese coach remains in post until the end of his contract, due to expire in 2027, will depend on the Libyan Football Federation’s ability to honour its commitments.

The governing body of Libyan football has resolved Aliou Cisse’s situation by paying the majority of his outstanding wages, according to wiwsport. Only one month remains before the international break in March 2026. While this settlement represents a significant step forward, it does not, however, guarantee the Senegalese manager’s stability in his role.

The president of the Libyan Football Federation was keen to point out that Aliou Cisse’s future depends on the fulfilment of contractual obligations, particularly financial ones, until the end of his contract in 2027. A statement that still leaves doubt hanging over Cisse’s future at the helm of the Libyan national team.
