Despite criticism over prices: five million fans have requested tickets for the 2026 World Cup
Despite skyrocketing ticket prices, at least five million fans are planning to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Details: For the matches of the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, FIFA has already received five million ticket requests. The most sought-after fixture is the clash between Colombia and Portugal, set for June 27 in Miami.
Supporters from over two hundred countries, according to FIFA, have submitted ticket applications, undeterred by mounting criticism over the pricing. The pricing structure for next year's tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico has been criticized, with the Football Supporters' Association (FSA) calling it "scandalous."
For example, group stage matches are now three times more expensive than those at the last World Cup in Qatar, with the cheapest tickets for the final costing around $4,162.
The FSA has joined forces with the European Football Supporters' Federation (FSE), demanding a halt to ticket sales so that fans can negotiate match prices with FIFA.
