Deontay Wilder's Trainer has revealed veteran boxer future plans
Trainer Malik Scott has revealed veteran boxer Deontay Wilder's future plans.
Details: According to the trainer, the former heavyweight champion has no intention of hanging up his gloves anytime soon and plans to keep fighting.
Quote: “He definitely wants to fight again, that's for sure. Something good is expected to happen in 2025. Right now, Deontay is simply resting and focusing on his family and his business. When you’re in the latter half of your career and participating in high-level bouts against bigger opponents, rest is just as important as sprints and runs.
The heavyweight division is alive and well, but it could be much better. There are only about five guys in the division who are currently in high demand. It’s all about what Turki Alalshikh believes in and what the fans want to see,” Scott told BoxingScene.
Reminder: In June this year, Wilder lost to China’s Zhang Zhilei.
The fight was decided in the fifth round. Deontay went down to the canvas, and although he managed to get back up, the referee stopped the match and awarded an early victory to Zhilei.
