Deco makes his move! Barcelona open talks over another Raphinha renewal

The Brazilian is tied down until 2028, so there is no rush to reach an agreement

Barcelona are already thinking several steps ahead with one of their biggest stars.

Details: According to SPORT, Barcelona director of football Deco has met with Raphinha to discuss the possibility of another contract extension for the Brazilian winger.

There is no immediate pressure on either side to complete a deal. Raphinha's existing contract with Barcelona runs until June 30, 2028, after the club secured his previous renewal in May 2025. That gives the Catalans plenty of room to negotiate without having to rush the process.

The latest contact nevertheless underlines Barcelona's desire to keep the Brazilian as a long-term part of the project. Raphinha has grown into one of the team's leading figures and is currently wearing the captain's armband, making his future an important issue for the club's sporting department.

It is worth noting that Raphinha has started the 2026/27 LaLiga campaign in outstanding form. After five league matches, the Brazilian has registered six goals and three assists. He became the first Barcelona player since Lionel Messi in the 2017/18 season to record at least nine goal involvements across the club's opening five league games.
