According to de la Fuente, Yamal is still recovering from a muscle tear that sidelined him for more than a month:
"Lamine's recovery is going very well. He'll be ready for the World Cup, and should be fit for the opening match.
Everything is going well for him," de la Fuente reported.
At the World Cup, Spain has been drawn into Group H, where they will face Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, and Cape Verde.
Reminder: With Yamal and no Real Madrid players. Spain announce squad for the 2026 World Cup
