Decision made. Everton settles David Moyes' future as head coach
Everton's management is set to offer head coach David Moyes a new contract in recognition of his impressive work. The Scottish manager has transformed the team from relegation candidates into contenders for European competition spots, reports The Guardian.
Initially, Moyes’ appointment was viewed as a temporary solution by the club’s new owners, the Friedkin Group, who completed the £400 million purchase of Everton shortly before his arrival. However, the board is now convinced that Moyes is the man to guide the team’s long-term development.
Formal talks over a new deal are scheduled for the summer, but there is a strong belief within the club that the 62-year-old is ready to continue his second stint in charge.
Recall that Moyes took charge of the Toffees in January last year, replacing Sean Dyche when the club was just one point above the relegation zone. At present, Everton sits eighth in the standings, just three points adrift of the Champions League places.
