João Palhinha has taken a crucial step toward returning to English football.
Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, the Bayern midfielder has already agreed personal terms with Aston Villa. Moreover, the Portuguese international has notified the Munich club’s management that he wants to continue his career specifically with Unai Emery’s side.
The next step is for the clubs to negotiate the financial terms of the transfer. At this stage, there is still no final agreement between Aston Villa and Bayern.
Palhinha’s intentions, however, are crystal clear: the 31-year-old midfielder is ready to join the Birmingham club as soon as both parties settle on a transfer fee.
It’s worth noting that Palhinha spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Tottenham, making 45 appearances, scoring 7 goals, and providing 3 assists. According to Transfermarkt, the Portuguese midfielder is valued at €15 million.
