Deal done. Dubravka has signed a new contract with Newcastle
Experienced Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka was on the verge of leaving the English club this winter. The Slovak shot-stopper had been linked with a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab.
However, Newcastle managed to find the right arguments and extended their cooperation with their goalkeeper.
Details: The Magpies officially announced that 36-year-old Dubravka has signed a new contract with the club. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
Quote: "I’m very happy to have extended my stay here. I had a very positive conversation with the manager and the sporting director, and we all agreed that it would be better if I stayed here.
I really have a special bond with the club, the staff, and the fans. My children were born here, so now they are Geordies, and this club holds a special place in my heart!" commented the goalkeeper on signing the new deal.
Reminder: It was previously reported that Barcelona plans to sign Newcastle’s star striker Alexander Isak next summer.
