Deal agreed! Barcelona sends another academy product to Ajax

Ajax is gearing up to welcome yet another talent from the famed La Masia academy.

Details: According to Mundo Deportivo, Jofre Torrents will join Ajax on a season-long loan from Barcelona. The clubs have already reached an agreement, with only the final details pending before the official announcement. The 19-year-old left-back will get in Amsterdam what he can't be guaranteed at Camp Nou: regular first-team football at the senior level.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ajax will have the option to buy 50% of the player's rights for around 5 million euros next summer. However, Barcelona retains a buy-back clause, as the Catalans are not ready to part ways with one of their academy's brightest prospects without a chance to bring him back. Torrents, who looks up to Jordi Alba and Alejandro Balde as his footballing models, made his first-team debut under Hansi Flick and is seen within the club as a player with immense potential.

Torrents will become the second Barcelona player to end up at Ajax this summer: earlier, goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen was also close to a loan move to the Amsterdam club.
