Deadline-day shock! Balogun's Everton move thrown into doubt after medical tests

Details: According to Fabrice Hawkins, Folarin Balogun's proposed move from Monaco to Everton is now in jeopardy following his medical examinations. Everton's medical staff reportedly believe the 25-year-old striker is not currently 100% fit, creating major uncertainty around the deal.
However, Monaco and the player's representatives have a completely different view of the situation. Both sides insist Balogun is ready to play and maintain that there are no problems that should prevent him from completing the transfer.
The development comes at the worst possible moment for Everton. The clubs had previously reached an agreement worth €45 million plus €5 million in add-ons, while Balogun had agreed personal terms on a four-year contract with an option for another season. With the transfer deadline approaching, the medical disagreement now threatens to derail a move that had appeared to be virtually completed.
It is worth noting that Balogun scored 13 goals and provided 4 assists in 30 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco during the 2025/26 season. Across his three Ligue 1 campaigns with the club, the American forward has registered 24 goals and 9 assists in 72 matches.
