De Ligt's replacement? Man United interested in Bayer defender

Despite media claims that Manchester United are close to signing Bayern defender Matthijs de Ligt, Old Trafford are working on back-up options to strengthen the centre of defence.

That is what Florian Plettenberg believes Bayer centre back Jonathan Tah to be. The insider reports that Manchester United have approached Leverkusen about the player over the past few days.

“The Red Devils” know that there is no agreement between Bayern and Bayer to buy the German national team player, so they will try to sign the player.

Just as there is no agreement between Manchester United and Bayern on the transfer of de Ligt. "Mancunians" has not yet sent to Munich final transfer proposal on the Dutchman.

We will remind, earlier it was reported that de Ligt agreed on a move to Manchester with Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag.
