Manchester City traveled to face Crystal Palace in the 32nd round of the Premier League. Pep Guardiola's team could not afford a slip-up considering the title race dynamics.

The start of the match looked promising for the home side. Just three minutes in, the Eagles launched a counterattack that ended with a precise strike from Mateta.

After that, the Cityzens increased the tempo and applied pressure on the opponent's goal. Ten minutes later, De Bruyne restored parity with a spectacular shot from outside the box. The visitors could have scored more in the first half, but the London team also had their moments and did not look hopeless.

Any hopes of a competitive second half were shattered right at the beginning. In the 47th minute, Lewis scrambled the ball into the net and put City ahead.

From then on, there was only one team on the field. The Cityzens scored two more goals. In the 66th minute, Haaland put any doubts about the match's outcome to rest by scoring his 30th goal of the season. A few minutes later, the superb De Bruyne completed his brace. To their credit, the hosts managed to score a consolation goal through Odsonne Edouard's precise strike in the 86th minute.

With 70 points, City surpassed Arsenal in the table and caught up with Liverpool. However, the Gunners and the Merseysiders have one game in hand.
