Davido to headline AFCON 2025 kick-off concert

Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has been named among the headline performers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 opening festivities.

The 35th edition of the tournament will kick off on December 21, featuring 24 teams battling for continental glory. CAF has lined up musical performances to build excitement before the football action begins.

Davido, described as one of Africa’s biggest music exports, previously performed at the 2017 AFCON opening ceremony and at the FIFA World Cup in 2022, where he delivered the theme song “Hayya Hayya”… He will be joined on stage by French Montana, Douaa Lahyaoui, Says'z, and Lartiste.

The concert holds Saturday from 6:00 PM to midnight, Morocco time.

AFCON action starts Sunday as hosts Morocco face Comoros in Rabat at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium later that evening.
