David Okereke Joins Benevento on Free Transfer Until 2028

Nigerian striker David Chidozie Okereke has officially joined newly promoted Serie B side Benevento on a free transfer following his departure from Cremonese.

Benevento confirmed the signing of the 1997-born forward, with Okereke putting pen to paper on a contract that runs until June 30, 2028.

The agreement also includes an option for an automatic one-year extension, meaning the Nigerian striker could remain at the Italian club until June 2029.

Okereke attracted interest from several clubs before deciding to continue his career in Italy. MLS side FC Cincinnati and Turkish clubs Samsunspor and Gaziantep FK were among the teams linked with the forward during the transfer window.
