David Beckham honored for his work in child welfare
Inter Miami owner David Beckham has been recognized for his contributions beyond football, receiving an award for his role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, The Sun reports.
The former footballer was honored at the World Economic Forum in Davos for his efforts to improve children’s living conditions and his advocacy against gender discrimination.
Beckham highlighted the importance of gender equality, noting that he wants his 13-year-old daughter, Harper, to have the same opportunities as her older brothers. "I want her to have equal rights to education, employment, and all the opportunities her brothers have," he said, underlining his commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for girls and boys.
Beckham has long been known for his charitable endeavors. Recently, he supported an initiative aimed at helping former footballers suffering from dementia, urging increased attention to this pressing issue.
David and his wife Victoria Beckham are parents to four children. In addition to their youngest, Harper, they have three adult sons. Their eldest, Brooklyn, 25, is already married.
