Darts star Luke Littler shares how legendary Alex Ferguson influenced his career
At just 18, darts sensation Luke Littler has already established himself as one of the best in the sport. Recently crowned world champion, Littler has earned an astounding £1.5 million since beginning his professional career in 2023.
Despite his rapid rise to fame, Littler remains grounded—a mindset shaped by advice from none other than football legend Sir Alex Ferguson. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Littler revealed how a chance meeting with the former Manchester United manager at Old Trafford left a lasting impression.
A devoted Manchester United fan, Littler was thrilled to meet Ferguson during a visit to the stadium. The young star not only got a photo with his idol but also received valuable advice. Ferguson told Littler’s father that Luke should stay humble and keep focusing on his career.
Taking the legendary manager’s wisdom to heart, Littler stays grounded, focusing on his craft and avoiding distractions. He maintains close ties with his school friends and steers clear of superficial relationships, acknowledging that some people might be more interested in his fame and fortune than in him as a person.
