Daniel Thioune Excited as Victor Boniface Nears Return to Werder Bremen
Werder Bremen head coach Daniel Thioune has expressed his delight at the news that Victor Boniface is set to return to the squad following a long injury layoff.
The Nigerian international was ruled out for the remainder of the season after sustaining a knee injury in December, which required surgery earlier this year. However, Boniface is now on track to make a comeback before the campaign concludes, offering a boost for Bremen as they push to secure their league status.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Thioune said: “First of all, I’m happy to have met him. We had a long talk. He indicated that he wants to help us in our fight to stay in the league. For me, that offers another option, but not for this weekend. In the coming weeks, we’re playing against teams of similar strength, and if we can give Victor a few minutes of playing time, that could be a big help and a real asset for us.”
