The Togolese first division championship, D1 Lonato, 2025-2026 season, kicks off on Saturday.

Recognizing that a successful championship hinges on the good conduct of the men in black—the referees—the FTF's refereeing department is placing officiating at the heart of every match. This is intended to reduce points of contention among stakeholders.

"The Head of the Refereeing Department, Mr. Kokou Djaoupé, emphasized the importance of training and refresher courses organized beforehand to ensure officials are in top technical and physical condition for the competitions," according to the FTF's official website. The FTF (Tunisian Football Federation) aims for clean refereeing throughout the season, and he was careful to reiterate this point :

"He also urged referees and assistant referees to demonstrate rigorous, honest, and exemplary officiating, reflecting the efforts made by all stakeholders in national football."
