Cyriel Dessers Season Over Following Decision to Fix Thigh Injury

Cyriel Dessers has officially been ruled out for the rest of the 2025/26 campaign after opting for surgery to finally resolve an ongoing thigh problem.

The issue, which has lingered for months, was closely assessed by medical staff at Panathinaikos. After thorough evaluation, the club concluded that surgical treatment was the best course of action, as the injury had not healed sufficiently through conservative methods.

According to Sportal Greece, the decision to proceed with surgery was made swiftly to prevent further complications and ensure a complete recovery.

The Nigerian striker first suffered the setback during the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, and despite efforts to manage the condition, it continued to trouble him.
