Cyprian Besong Ashu returns as head coach of the South Sudan national team

The Cameroonian coach has taken temporary charge of the Bright Stars following the departure of Nicolas Dupuis, who was sacked.
The South Sudanese national team has decided to once again entrust the leadership of the coaching staff to Cyprian Besong Ashu. The Cameroonian is making a return following his first spell from 2019 to 2021. However, this time it is a temporary role. The 56-year-old coach will serve as interim head of the South Sudan technical staff.
The Cameroonian tactician, who previously served as assistant coach to the Indomitable Lions under Marc Brys, will put his experience at the service of the South Sudanese team, which he is already familiar with. His appointment follows the sacking of Nicolas Dupuis, who had previously been South Sudan’s head coach.
