Cuti Romero Set to Leave Tottenham, Nearing Atlético Madrid Move

Cristian “Cuti” Romero is on the verge of bidding farewell to Tottenham Hotspur. As reported by Doble Amarilla, the Argentine center-back has informed club officials that his final matches will be the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United and Tottenham’s last Premier League game against Brighton. His next stop appears to be Atlético Madrid.

At 26, the World Cup winner is looking for a new challenge in European football. After making his name in Italy with Atalanta and proving his worth in the Premier League, Romero is now poised for his first experience in LaLiga. Sources close to the player say talks with Atlético are progressing well, with just a few details left to finalize the deal.

Romero will take the pitch in Bilbao for one last shot at silverware with Spurs—a club that hasn’t lifted a trophy in 17 years. A Europa League title would not only end that drought but also secure a Champions League berth for next season. For Romero, it could be the perfect send-off before embracing the next chapter of his career in Madrid.
