Cursed road? Second Hull City footballer flips car near training ground in a month

An astonishing string of road accidents near the English club’s training ground continues to shock supporters.

Details: French midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath of English side Hull City was involved in a serious road accident and flipped his car near the team’s training ground. The incident was reported by local outlet Hull Live.

Images of a Mercedes lying on its side on Millhouse Woods Lane quickly spread across social media. It emerged that the German car was being driven by the 23-year-old Tigers summer signing. To the immense relief of the medical staff and club officials, the footballer managed to escape the vehicle completely unhurt.

The incident was a genuine case of déjà vu for the Championship outfit: just last month, virtually at the same spot, Welsh winger Sorba Thomas was involved in a similar crash. The footballer flipped his Land Rover Defender onto its roof and damaged two neighboring cars, but also miraculously escaped injury.

It is worth noting that Lucas Gourna-Douath is a graduate of French club Saint-Étienne and has represented France at various youth levels. Before moving to England, he played for Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, helping them win the domestic title and featuring in the Champions League group stage.
